The only title not won by Kenmore, in their estimation, was the award for best air unit for about 200 sq. feet which went to Frigidaire. If their tests are to be believed, Kenmore models are priced better than comparable models, have more features, and receive the highest reviews from consumers.

One quality is very important for you to look for when you buy a window air unit. This is the Energy Star rating. Standards for receiving these ratings are set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy. They will tell you that if every room air conditioner that was sold in America were Energy Star rated, we could eliminate 1.3 billion pounds of greenhouse gas emissions from our atmosphere. This translates to the emissions from 115,000 cars.
