Ductless Air Conditioning Systems

There are several different kinds of air conditioners on the market today. For instance, a ductless air conditioning system is one that has been around for several years. They are most common in larger homes as you would not need this type of two part system for a smaller home, or just in a single room.

When summer hits you will see a lot of people setting up their small conditioners in windows, or on ledges. An conditioner is a wonderful household appliance that has been around for over 70 years. These incredible inventions do so much more than just keep the house cooled during the hot, steamy days of June, July, and August. When the temperatures get high, the humidity (or the amount of moisture that is in the air) also rises. This makes the heat feel like a sauna. You sweat more. You have a hard time doing activities. And people with respiratory problems can have serious side effects because of it. An conditioner keeps the temperature comfortable, but also decreases the humidity in your home.

Ductless air conditioning systems are a great alternative to small portable air conditioners, and even central air and heating systems. A duct less air conditioner is really a mini split system that has two separate parts connected by tubes of refrigerant. This type of conditioner is great for a smaller home with not a lot of square footage. A ductless system should not be confused with the window type small portable air conditioners. Think of this type of air conditioning system like what you would see in a hotel room or school building.

The main system is the part that sits outside the wall. This unit houses the condensers and refrigeration where the air is cooled through the fins and the blower. It sits on the ground in a level area. Connected to this part of the system is the part that looks like through the wall air conditioners. They can sit on a window, but they are much better situated through the wall itself. They have more stability and are not to be moved after they are installed.

Keeping your home cooled down, and the humidity at a comfortable level, the ductless system is much more efficient that a window type conditioner. This type of system works with a thermostat that you can control from either the control panel on the conditioner face, or through wall mounted thermostat. Ductless air conditioners are great for creating an environment that is not cold, but a constant cool level. Instead of just one room that is colder than the rest, you have several rooms that are all kept at a comfortable temperature.

The main advantage of a ductless air conditioning system, however, is that you do not have to worry about storing it in the winter. You simply cover it up for the winter months and seal it off from the elements. This saves a lot of work trying to lift a system up into the window. When you are thinking about a way to keep your home cooled with next summer season, look into the ductless system.
