Air Conditioning Equipment - More Than Just A Controller

Unlike what many people think about the history of air conditioners, this ventilation technique is rather traceable to many centuries ago in human history. The story probably started in the second century when a Chinese inventor came up with a manually operated a huge fan of about 3 meters in diameter. Perhaps the concept of air conditioning is still the same, but the techniques used nowadays are coming from a different scientific point of view. Chemistry is the main science modern air conditioning has originated from.

Evaporation is the most rapid technique to cool an object is probably the simplest idea that mainly inspired many scientists of different generations to advance towards this luxurious facility. Mixing water with other liquid substances to lower its freezing point was also a useful chemical fact that led to using substances like methane, alcohol and ether in the cooling process. The first modern air conditioner was invented in 1902 by Willis Carrier. Many improvements were added to this discovery through years to become as it is today. A lot of air conditioning equipment have either been added or altered to meet the increasing demand for more advanced conditioning capabilities.

Basic air conditioning equipment for a unit include a compressor which is typically the main part of any air conditioning unit; its main function is compressing the Freon oil to become hot which in turn flows through coils where it turns into a liquid then evaporates inside another set of coils to finally cool the walls it passes through. This leads to another essential part an air conditioner has, the evaporating coil, which has the key role in providing you with that refreshing cool air. Its main role is to absorb the heat from the passing liquid and releasing the cold air to cool the place.

Other than the numerous basic cooling equipment, there are many additional parts that support more options an air conditioner can have. The filter for example is one of these parts that any unit should not miss; absorbing all types of odors, dust, smoke and many other allergies causing materials. A heat exchanger is air conditioning equipment that allows the dual use of the unit for either cooling or heating and this saves a lot of money by using a single unit for all seasons. More sophisticated accessories are being added to this appliance such as the power telecommunication controller that can manage automatic control over two air conditioning units without any human interference
