Top 7 Don'ts For Front Lace Wigs

Combing and brushing the front lace wig is a part of the maintenance process. Quality front lace wigs don't come cheap, so I am sure you don't want them all torn and fuzzy. In order to keep your wig smooth, clean and in place, you need patience, kindness, and few basic tools.

Oh, don't get me wrong, you don't need an entire hair salon to do the job, all you need is a wide tooth comb. Why not a hairbrush? Simple, in time, hairbrushes can lead to knot weakening, slippage and visible balding areas on the unit.

My recommendation would be to use a wide tooth comb for daily maintenance. You can find those items in any beauty store or you can order them online from various retailers.

Regarding the proper combing and brushing of your unit, you can find countless resources on the Internet, especially videos that depict systematically the way you should take care of the unit in order to enjoy it for a longer period of time. I would like to present you top 7 don'ts when brushing and combing your unit. This way, you can stay away from any mistakes that will damage your front lace wig:

1. Never use hot water while washing your unit
2. don't brush excessively a certain area of the unit, especially when it comes to short -styled wigs;
3. Do not use greasy hair care products; they will make the maintenance even more difficult.
4. Don't comb the wig by working your way down. First, detangle the tips then work your way up gently. Just when you get to the top of the hair strands, you can start brushing the strand from top to bottom, but not excessively.
5. Front lace wigs are very delicate, and you have to avoid being rough while combing or brushing it.
6. Don't wash or comb the unit unless you have completely removed the adhesive. This is important if you want the unit to last a while.
7. Does not ever use the hair dryer on your unit, always let it air dry after shampooing and conditioning your unit.

Remember, patience and care are the two special ingredients of quality front lace wig maintenance!
